I’m looking to learn as much as I can about the political systems and economies of the individual 13 original states of the US (especially that of Pennsylvania under the constitution of 1776) in the 1700s. Are there any in depth books or articles that you would recommend?

What was life like for the average person in nazi occupied France (specifically Paris)? Were some things people did before the war prohibited, what difficulties did the population face in their day to day life? Were there secret clubs people would go to escape the harsh reality?

Is there any historical reason why western dragons seem to be denoted with wings for flight and are mostly seen as evil that need to be slayed, while eastern dragons or at least, chinese/japanese dragons, are wingless and can fly and are seen as benevolent and wise?

I have seen claims that Standard Oil and other American oil companies “fueled Nazi Germany’s war machine” and “sold significant amount of oil to the Nazis”. Is there any truth to this? Did these companies favor Germany or did they sell similar amounts to the USSR too?
